Psychological Forensics Division assists the legal and law-enforcement system to respond the various needs regarding trial, correction, investigation and crime prevention by applying psychological principles. There are four main areas that are specialized in detection of deception in criminal cases using measurement of psychophysiological responses, statement validity analysis, psychological assesment of personality and cognitive capacity and forensic hypnosis to recover memories of victims and witnesses. The division consists of two sections. Psychological Research Section covers psychophysiological detection of deception, statement validity analysis and psychological assessment. Crime Analysis Section is in charge of forensic hypnosis and research on causes and methods of crime.
